School Closings

North Canton City Schools will close if weather conditions make opening school too dangerous, which will be determined by the superintendent in consultation with area superintendents, and the transportation coordinator/coordinator and snow plowing service personnel will monitor road conditions. His decision will usually be reached around 5:30 AM; parents and students are advised to listen for announcements of school closings or delays on local radio stations.

Furthermore, the district appoints both a district test coordinator and a building test coordinator, who are both available to help facilitate administering state assessments.

With the funds, Clearmount Elementary and Mary L Evans Early Childhood Center sites will become primary schools serving Pre-K through 2 grades, respectively, while Clearmount Elementary itself will become home for an intermediate school that will replace Greentown and Orchard Hill Intermediates.

Under the Federal Education and Privacy Act of 1996, parents and adult students have the right to inspect and review official student records. Anyone wishing to view them must make a written request directly to their principal; an appointment will then be scheduled as soon as possible after receiving their request.

Summer Break

North Canton schools’ calendar outlines all of the major holidays during the school year. Some may be federal/national while others specific to Ohio may occur, yet each holiday has the same result for North Canton City schools – they close for the day, and students don’t need to attend classes, including summer break that occurs every July when outdoor education field trips often take place.
