10

Maybe you have had a day where that seemed you just could not get going. The alarm goes off but there you lie, reluctant to take what seems like the significant step of getting out of bed. I use certainly been there asking me personally.. what’s this about? Therefore I decided to do some research and self-exploration and came to this summary that I want to share with you, confident that it will help you shift your current perspective on motivation.

There are numerous myths around motivation or maybe the lack thereof.

Let’s start with several common questions:

How do I inspire myself?
How do I get determination?
Why am I not determined?
The Myth: The false root premise in these questions is the fact that motivation is missing, or else you have to do something special to obtain motivation. You might think some people are blessed with the internal water fountain of motivation that moves within them.
The Truth: The truth is you already have all the motivation you will need. Motivation is an endless alternative resource that exists within you. It does not run out, this cannot be taken from you, and another person does not get more compared to others.

The Myth: Lack of inspiration is the problem. It is the reason for not getting things done.

The facts: Lack of motivation is the sign. It requires a more profound knowledge of self-awareness to find the valid reason for not getting it done.

Consider that for a minute. The next thing you ask might be that if you already have all the motivation you need, what is the problem? The solution lies in your emotional cleverness (EQ). How are your EQUALIZER scores in self-awareness and self-management because these two areas drive your motivation? While I do not know the particular answer to this question for you personally, I would venture a reckon that the problem may be that you are subconsciously choosing how and when to apply motivation.

Example #1: You get up and play video games each day. Your friends and family state you lack motivation. In reality, you might be showing a tremendous amount of inspiration. Still, you are showing typically the motivation in your desire to participate in videos and not in the regions others have decided are more significant.

Example #2: You go to your job each day. It is rare that you just miss work because you know 1) the return you obtain from going to work along with 2) the importance of your purpose in the work you do. You will be motivated to go to work.

True Talk: Instead of having a deficiency of motivation, consider that you selectively apply your motivation. Which can be perfectly okay. You determine it, and what you decide is vital. Emotional intelligence is about being self-aware, which includes being trustworthy with yourself about what you want as opposed to what you say you want.

We must begin applying motivation situationally. As the example above presents, no one is always “unmotivated” equally as no one is always “motivated”. Compartmentalizing when you are motivated versus not necessarily allows you to better understand what is usually contributing to your lack of enthusiasm.

So how can you help disentangle the noise around enthusiasm? Evaluate the three key regions below, and you may find that to relax and play, adjust where you engage your motivation energy.

Three (3) Easy Steps for Understanding and Managing Motivation (CUF):

#1 – Clarity- What process or area of your life calls for motivation? More importantly, why is this kind necessary? What will be the impression you have? How will it impression others? Anytime you find yourself experiencing unmotivated, clarify the purpose of this. Is it for you, or would it be being done to satisfy others? Receive clarity on purpose along with the benefits of why this specific process or area is essential. This particular “why” becomes the energy in your tank. It helps keep you focused and picks a person up when ready to drop. Your “why” is the reason for completing this task; therefore, make it good! If you find this is not something you want to do, that needs a different conversation with all those holding you to this anticipation.

#2 – Urgency- Whenever do you want to do it? Is it essential that you do this in the next 2 weeks, within the next two years, or in the next ten years? Be clear concerning this part. To generate the compelling drive for modification, you must have a sense of urgency, or even human nature will take over, and we will continue to do what we usually do. After all, what’s the actual hurry? This is the theory driving the 5 Second Guideline by Mel Robbins. A person creates urgency about change and then does not allow himself the time to create excuses and back out. 5-4-3-2-1… do it!

#3 – Focus- Now that you realize the what and the whenever, the how comes. The best way to begin moving can be by shifting your focus. To put it simply, you get what you focus on. If you wish to do something, simply focus on this. Move it to the best of your priority list. Consider it actively, start planning for this, begin doing it, do not allow yourself to get distracted, and check it daily. In addition, it must somehow fit into your routine. If not, it will seem like fitting a square peg in a round hole… it really will not work. Finally, make accountability systems and associates so you cannot let on your own off the hook. If this is a priority for you, make the as well as space in your life, embrace good, and get it done.
