What is Retirement?

Trying to keep a Journal.

As we increase and age in this existence, we seem to have general goals for specific periods. The first 18 to more decades can be set aside for knowledge and training. From 20 to 35 could be referred to as a period where one obtains married and raises many kids. From 35 to help, 55 or 65 is definitely where one focuses on one’s work or employment. And then you come to the age of “retirement.” What is “retirement”? Of course, ideally, it means you can finally stop working and easily “enjoy” your life with your loved one. Your kids are grown as well as their own, and you and you’re extended have to go to “work” daily.

But what “is” retirement? The many previous sections in a lifetime are full of detailed descriptions. Yet “retirement” is somehow kept rather vague. One would feel that retirement would be the long-awaited TARGET of life. But instead, we could leave with the vague graphic of a rather portly person playing golf and drinking “at the club” and the feminine enjoying raising her grandkids. But what if you aren’t any golfer (or a drinker) and your grandkids don’t need you to raise them? Err.

A specific goal is to be accomplished within the period called “retirement.” But it is not generally discussed in the mass media because it has to do with “Spirit.” We call retirement, in fact, the period where one should overview their real-life knowledge. What have you learned from your 65 + years of existence within this 3-d hologram named life on earth? What provides “Mary” or “Jim” learn in this life? Just how have you been able to grow your heart and soul?

And this brings me to the main topic: keeping a Journal. It doesn’t consider much time, and you don’t have to be considered a talented writer. You just have to retain some form of notes about your existing experience as it is happening. And also, here’s an exciting thing I’ve found (having kept a log for over 50 years). Of my notes detailing specific stress patterns and lists of complaints, I noticed that

from time to time, a detailed “paragraph” or two would sort of take onto the page that genuinely has nothing to do with what came just before or after. Suddenly a vital “insight” will sort of seem. And then, just as suddenly, it will eventually stop, and the notations may return to my patterns regarding the general complaints and details of my frustrations with a very important factor and another. And then, weekly later, maybe a couple of months afterward, the sudden appearance regarding another “deep” insight can look again. It might simply be any paragraph or two, or it could be an entire page. And inside rereading my journals, I find that this seems to take place on a semi-regular time frame, although at the time of the production, I am unaware of often the “insights.”

And there’s often the rather fantastic part. There are going through my journals and a yellow marker, and I believe where and when these cut-off “insights” appear. And then, My partner and I find that they are all connected! Me and my juicer a vase that has been broken long ago with the pieces existing across time. Or, within the way of looking at it, it can be like “I” am always keeping two journals. One is my current daily list of frustration and criticism, and the other originates from a higher perspective. But the “higher” perspective is still “me.” It is my viewpoint from you can hear of Mind. Some could call this a gift. Some might call it paradisiacal schizophrenia. But it is not odd. We all are having multiple talks with “ourselves” all the time. Although we are often too mobile phone by life’s continual dilemma to pay attention.

Now to many people, a journal is definitely a “male” euphemism for just a “diary.” And as we know, several young girls keep diaries during middle or high school graduation. But likewise, most early nautical explorers kept diaries, except that they were called the ship’s log, and they detailed their particular adventures and served as a possible historical document. I would suggest that you simply think of yourself like an early explorer off on a hazardous mission that has never recently been attempted before: the personal hunt for your life! Think of your log as your ship’s log.

I had also suggested that should journaling “catch on” some daytime in the future, these journals will probably be studied in Universities around the globe as historical documents. “What was life really like inside the 21st Century. ”

Yet who has the time to click pen to paper these days of constant distraction and immediate gratification? Well… no reason to do this. Suppose you own a computer or even a smartphone. In that case, you can simply install a speech-to-text program or perhaps App and suddenly have a very personal secretary to take lower every relevant thought along with your secretary working 24-7 at no cost!

Now that is what I phone “Retirement.”

Here is a set of five specific suggestions for viewers who haven’t kept any journal but now find themselves in the particular “retirement phase” of their existence:

1 . List every handle you have ever lived on. Describe each location at length as best you can, though.

2 . List all the “forks” on the road of your life. This kind of doesn’t have to be particularly excellent or wrong; they are just position points where a decision was made that changed all those things that came after.

3. Collection of all an individual’s “Close calls” with Death. An individual has those “events “which come about in their life that could easily have resulted in their passing but didn’t. Call the item “fate” or simply good luck. Illustrate each of these in detail.

4. Illustrate your life in 5 calendar year increments. Start at the associated with 5. What do you think (if anything) between your beginning and the age of 5? In that case, move on and recall the things you can between the ages connected with 5 and 10. Tend to go into 11 or 14. Keep it firmly in 5 various-year increments. And do that until you are within five different years of your current age.

Five various. Create a “Reverse Bucket List.” A “normal” bucket checklist would be a list of things you wish to accomplish in the future. In the case of a change bucket list, go over your well-being and select things that you have previously done or accomplished. Items you enjoyed or are pleased with and list them “as if” you hadn’t done them yet. List them as things want or hope to carry out or accomplish at some time that you are experiencing.
