Top 5 Destinations for a Power Tour in 2023

People from DD Speed Shop have been asking Dan why power touring should be on their bucket list. He shared that its experience will bring amazing comradery.

The 29th HOT ROD Power Tour, Driven by Continental Tire, will travel through Georgia, Carolinas, and Tennessee this June, visiting five cities over five days for what has become America’s largest traveling car show.

Atlanta

Visit Atlanta and be amazed! From contemporary museums to historic sites, Atlanta offers plenty of fun things to see and do, as well as parks and gardens like the Atlanta Botanical Garden, which features themed gardens filled with a variety of flowers, trees, shrubs, and plants – not to mention North America’s most extensive orchid collection! In addition to this incredible attraction are conservation gardens, such as edible and winter desert gardens, as well as conservation programs available throughout the year!

Atlanta is renowned for its role in the American Civil Rights Movement and ongoing global human rights movements. Attractions such as the Center for Civil and Human Rights serve to connect these movements through artifacts and storytelling that encourage empathy, conversation, and progressive change. The Power Tour is one of the nation’s biggest traveling car shows, drawing in thousands of enthusiasts each year to cities throughout the Southeast. Rockingham

Rockingham boasts an incredible variety of attractions, activities, and tour experiences. Visitors to this county will discover world-class outdoor recreation facilities, vibrant small towns with great cafes and galleries, historical sites of note, farm-to-table dining experiences, and farm-to-table dining opportunities that make this an appealing must-see destination for visitors. Plus, it has beautiful beaches – only 40 minutes south of Perth! – offer up penguins, dolphins, and coral reefs as a treat; hence its catchphrase being “Where the coast comes alive.” It really lives up to this moniker!

Rockingham Speedway was proud to welcome the 2023 HOT ROD Power Tour on its third stop of a five-day road trip, drawing thousands of enthusiasts who watched old-school NASCAR vehicles traverse its high-bank oval track. There was also an autocross course available and a replica of the Martinsville Speedway paperclip track.

Make time during your stay in Rockingham to appreciate some of its finest local art. There are more than 30 public artworks scattered throughout the City, from sculptures and statuary to community projects and murals in major civic thoroughfares, parks, and beachside areas – not forgetting Greg James’ Reinforced Peace sculpture at the Rockingham Arts Centre on Kent Street!

Visit Ephraim Wales BULL, creator of the Concord grape, at Grapevine Cottage in Concord. Built-in 1716 and one of Concord’s most charming structures, this home can be visited for tours and events throughout the year.

Henry David Thoreau spent much of his formative years in Concord and still resides there today, so visitors should visit both his home and the tranquil Walden Pond nearby for guided tours. Additionally, you can gain more insight into Louisa May Alcott by touring her Orchard House, where you’ll see rooms she used when writing Little Women.

Concord Museum serves to honor its town’s rich literary culture by offering visitors the chance to view historic artifacts and hear revolutionary tales, as well as offering educational programs tailored specifically for children and adults alike.
